SEO Blog Writer
Most AI-generated blog posts fail at SEO because they're either keyword-stuffed garbage that reads like a robot wrote it, or well-written pieces that ignore how search engines actually work. The SEO Blog Writer produces neither — posts engineered to rank, and good enough that a real person finishes them.
What this skill does
This skill is the long version of the How to Automate SEO with Claude Code workflow, encoded so you don't have to remember the steps. Every post goes through the same pipeline: viability check → intent classification → keyword cluster → competitor analysis → voice ingest → outline → draft → on-page pass. Skip a step and the post either doesn't rank or doesn't read.
The viability gate is the part most AI blog generators skip — and it's the one that saves the most time. If you point the skill at "marketing" or "business" as a target keyword, it refuses to proceed and tells you why: the keyword is too broad, owned by reference giants, has no single searcher need. It proposes a defensible refinement ("email marketing for small e-commerce stores") and only writes once the target is winnable. A skill that obediently writes 2,000 words on "marketing" is a skill wasting your time.
Each post is built around a cluster, not a single keyword. The skill identifies 30-50 related terms a single post can plausibly target — long-tail variants, intent variations, related questions — and weaves them in naturally. The cluster is also what powers the FAQ section at the bottom of every post, captured as structured data for snippet eligibility.
Voice is non-negotiable. The skill asks for writing samples (a few LinkedIn posts, past blog posts, a style guide — anything authored by a human you respect) and reads them before drafting. Without voice references, the output reads like AI; with them, it reads like you. There's a urgency mode where the skill will compress if the user demands speed, but only by making explicit assumptions for the missing brief items — never by skipping the cluster build or the on-page pass.
The output is a publishable markdown file plus a per-section explanation of why each SEO decision was made — so you learn the framework as you use the skill, and your own non-AI writing improves over time.
When this triggers
- ·You have a target keyword and need a publishable post around it
- ·You're producing content at volume and need each post to actually rank, not just exist
- ·You're handing content production to AI and need it to follow real SEO best practice, not 2019 keyword density
- ·You want a post that targets a *cluster* — 30+ related keywords — not a single term
- ·You need on-page optimisation (H1/H2 structure, internal links, FAQ schema, meta) baked in from the draft, not retrofitted
Example
Trigger
User: 'Write a post targeting claude code hooks. Audience is developers evaluating Claude Code. Voice: my LinkedIn posts.'
Output
Process (this is what the skill does, in order): 1. Keyword-viability gate — "claude code hooks" passes (~8.7K cluster volume, manageable competition, clear intent). 2. Intent classification — informational / how-to. Pulls "what", "how to", "examples", "vs skills" patterns. 3. Cluster build — ~35 related keywords grouped: · 'claude code hooks' (1,300/mo, head term) · 'how to write a claude code hook' (480/mo) · 'claude code pretooluse posttooluse' (210/mo) · ... 4. Voice ingest — reads the user's LinkedIn samples, locks tone. 5. Outline — H1, 6 H2s, FAQ section, internal-link targets. 6. Draft — ~1,800 words, hooks the cluster organically, no keyword stuffing, explicit FAQ at the end for snippet capture. 7. On-page pass — meta title (under 60), meta description (under 155), H1 keyword placement, internal-link suggestions, alt text recommendations. Output: publishable .md + a per-section explanation of WHY each SEO choice was made.
