Blog to Social Snippets
One blog post contains 10-15 standalone social posts — not by chopping it up, but by reading it through seven different lenses. Most creators get one link-share and move on.
What this skill does
The reason most blog-to-social repurposing fails is the mental model behind it. Creators read the post once and ask "how do I summarise this?" — which produces one link-share, maybe a "key takeaways" carousel, then nothing. The post is a goldmine; they extract a single ore sample and move on.
This skill reads every source through seven lenses on purpose: key insights, contrarian takes, story moments, data points, how-to steps, questions, and micro-quotes. Each lens generates a different type of post for a different psychological hook. A 1,500-word post typically supports 4-6 standalone insights, 2-3 contrarian reframings, 1-2 expandable stories, several data-driven hooks, and a handful of quotable lines. That's where the 10-15 posts come from — not from padding, from coverage.
Platform formatting is native, not copy-pasted. LinkedIn gets a short first-line hook (only ~210 characters show before "see more"), no "I'm excited to share" openers, and the question at the end. X gets single tweets under 280 where they outperform threads. Instagram carousels stay under 40 words a slide. TikTok and Reels get a hook in the first 1-3 seconds, [visual direction] cues, and a loop where the source supports one. The skill tells you which angles translate to video — contrarian, data, story, how-to — and which ones to skip (questions and micro-quotes don't pay off as Reels).
If the source is thin — under 800 words, mostly abstract, no stories or numbers — the skill says so and produces fewer posts instead of padding. The output is a deployable calendar with each post tagged by lens, ready-to-post text, a visual or video direction note, and a link-status flag. Link-back posts stay under 20% of the total because every platform suppresses external links — your social feed needs to deliver value on its own, with the blog as a bonus, not the point.
When this triggers
- ·You published a blog post and want 2-4 weeks of social content from it
- ·You're burning out producing daily social posts from scratch
- ·Your blog gets traffic but your social feed and your long-form feel disconnected
- ·You're cross-posting to LinkedIn, X, and Instagram and need each version to read native
- ·You keep extracting the same 'top 3 tips' angle from every post and want the other six
Example
Trigger
User pastes a 1,600-word post on cold email and asks for 2 weeks of LinkedIn + X content.
Output
Source supports ~14 standalone posts across 6 lenses. (Lens 7 — micro-quotes — thin in this source. Skipping.) Week 1 · Mon — LinkedIn — Contrarian — "Personalisation isn't the reply-rate problem everyone thinks it is..." · Tue — X single — Data — "8,000 sends. Reply rate jumped 4.2% the day we stopped doing this:" · Thu — LinkedIn — Story — opens on the failed campaign from paragraph 3 of the post · ... Week 2 [carries on, varies lens per day] 20% link-back ceiling respected. 0 duplicates across X/LinkedIn. Each post tagged with lens + reason it should perform.
