Amazon Listing Architect

Amazon is not Shopify. Keyword-stuffed titles read like word soup, beautiful prose doesn't rank, and most listings fail one or the other. The Amazon Listing Architect builds the full listing — title, 5 bullets, description, A+ brief, backend keywords — balanced for A9 ranking and human conversion.

What this skill does

Amazon's algorithm ranks listings on two things: relevance (does this match the search?) and performance (does this convert?). Optimise only for one and you lose. Keyword-stuffed titles get clicks but kill conversion. Beautifully written titles read well but never surface. The Architect builds for both.

The title follows the position-weighted formula Amazon actually uses — brand, primary keyword, key features, size, use case, all front-loaded into the first 80 characters because that's the mobile truncation point. No promotional language ("best seller", "#1", "guaranteed") because Amazon will suppress or warn on it. Every word either ranks or informs the buyer — no filler.

The five bullets each do a specific job: primary benefit, differentiator, use case, trust signal, what's-in-the-box. Caps headline plus short supporting text, because buyers scan the headlines and deep-read one or two. Bullet 5 isn't filler — it's the return-prevention bullet, and a return hurts your ranking more than a missed sale.

If you're brand registered, the skill produces an A+ Content brief with four modules — brand story, feature showcase, comparison chart against your own range (not competitors, because Amazon will reject that), lifestyle. Image direction per module is explicit that 70%+ of Amazon traffic is mobile, so text-heavy images with small fonts get cut from the brief by default. Single focal point per module.

Backend keywords get treated as the free real estate they are: 249 bytes of invisible-to-buyer, indexed-by-Amazon space for misspellings, alternate-language terms, abbreviations, and keywords that couldn't fit the visible listing without making it ugly. No commas, no repeats with the title, no brand names, no ASINs. The skill counts the bytes and tells you exactly how many you have left.

Marketplace-aware. UK shoppers search "trainers", not "sneakers"; "nappies", not "diapers"; "flask" alongside "water bottle". UK titles trend shorter and cleaner than US. The skill writes for the marketplace you specified — not a translated US listing pretending to be UK copy. For parent-child variation listings, backend keywords get spread across children rather than duplicated, so each variant captures its own long-tail searches. For seasonal products, the skill flags which backend keywords are time-bounded ("christmas gift for [persona]", "stocking filler") and reminds you to remove them after the season to keep the listing relevant.

Honest about saturation: in hyper-competitive categories (phone cases, yoga mats, resistance bands), the skill will tell you that listing quality alone won't win the category — you'll also need reviews, competitive pricing, and PPC spend. It won't pretend a perfect listing is a moat where it isn't.

When this triggers

  • ·You're launching on Amazon and need a complete listing, not just a title rewrite
  • ·Your existing listing reads beautifully but doesn't rank for the searches you care about
  • ·You're brand registered and the A+ Content slot is empty because you don't know what modules to commission
  • ·You're expanding to Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de and the US listing's keywords don't translate
  • ·You have a parent-child variation listing and don't know how to spread backend keywords across the children
