Podcast Pitch Pipeline

Most podcast pitches get ignored because they're generic, self-centred, and give the host no reason to say yes. The Podcast Pitch Pipeline builds the one-sheet, the topic menu, and per-show pitches that reference specific episodes — the kind of email that gets a reply, not a delete.

What this skill does

Podcast guesting is one of the highest-leverage personal brand activities available — one 45-minute conversation puts you in front of a pre-qualified, engaged audience the host has already earned. The catch is that hosts get pitched constantly, and most pitches are generic, self-centred, and give them no reason to book you. This skill builds the asset that closes the booking and the pitch that earns the reply.

The one-sheet comes first because pitching without one is applying for a job without a CV. It includes a positioning headline (not a job title), three to five specific episode topic options with actual hooks rather than vague themes, a two to three sentence bio focused on credibility and relatability, any previous appearances, and a clear statement of what listeners walk away with. Each topic gets the HOOK treatment — a specific clickable episode title, the listener outcome, your original angle, and three to four talking points that hand the host a conversation roadmap.

Then the pitch. The PITCH structure runs Personal Connection (a specific episode reference that proves you've actually listened), Insight You'd Bring (one counterintuitive sentence), Topic Suggestion (framed as a gift to their audience, not a platform for you), Credibility (one line — show name, result, or audience number), Handoff (one-sheet attached, happy to tailor). Under 150 words. Hosts are busy, and concise pitches signal you'll be a concise guest.

The follow-up system is built in: day 7 with a different topic angle (not "just checking in"), day 14 with a relevant piece of content you created, day 30 and you move on. Circle back in three months if it still feels right.

The skill is realistic about the funnel. Pitch ten shows per week, expect one to two bookings. It deliberately steers users toward niche shows with 500 engaged listeners in the exact audience rather than general business podcasts with 50,000. What it won't generate: pitches that lead with credentials, generic bios reused across every show, or anything that fails the "would my listeners care" test.

When this triggers

  • ·You want to be a podcast guest and don't know where to start
  • ·You've sent twenty pitches and got zero responses and need to know why
  • ·You have a story worth telling but no speaker one-sheet to back the pitch
  • ·You're targeting only huge shows and ignoring the niche ones that would actually convert
  • ·You've appeared on a few podcasts and want a system to scale outreach

Example

Trigger

User: 'B2B content strategist. Done 3 small podcasts. Want to pitch 10 shows a month. Need the system.'

Output

Guest One-Sheet: Headline: "The B2B content operator who killed her own blog and tripled pipeline." 3 episode topics, each with title, audience takeaway, your unique angle, and 4 talking points. Bio in 3 lengths. Previous appearances listed. Per-show pitch (PITCH structure, under 150 words): "I loved your episode with Sarah Chen — especially the point about treating LinkedIn like a billboard instead of a conversation. I'd love to share why most B2B content strategies fail in month three (and the retention metric nobody tracks). I ran that experiment with 12 SaaS companies over 18 months — the results are counterintuitive. Your audience would walk away with a diagnostic they can run on their own funnel by Monday. I've appeared on [Show] and [Show]. One-sheet attached with two more topic angles if this isn't the right fit. — [Name]" Plus: follow-up sequence at day 7, day 14, day 30.
