Group Programme Builder

Every coach hits the 1:1 ceiling. Group Programme Builder designs the curriculum, weekly rhythm, engagement system, and pricing for a scalable group programme — without diluting the experience into a course-plus-Q&A. It packages group coaching. It does not produce clinical or medical programming.

What this skill does

Scope first. This designs a coaching programme structure. It produces curriculum arc, weekly rhythm, engagement mechanics, pricing, and a launch sequence in coaching scope. It does not design clinical, medical, or therapeutic programming and won't write content that crosses into a regulated profession. The intake step is non-negotiable for health and wellness group programmes — participants with injuries, pregnancy, active medical treatment, or eating disorder history are flagged and referred to the appropriate professional before joining. The skill builds that screening into the launch sequence.

Inside scope, the programme follows a four-phase arc. Foundation (weeks 1-2) sets the baseline, builds group trust, and aims for a visible quick win by the end of week two — quick wins are what gets the cohort through the harder middle. Build (3-5) is core content and skill development; group dynamics shift from cautious to collaborative here. Accelerate (6-7) is advanced application and personalisation within the group framework. Sustain (week 8) is integration, a maintenance plan, graduation milestone, and the upsell to alumni or the next-level programme.

Weekly rhythm matters more than weekly content. Same day, same time, same structure every week — predictability reduces friction and builds habit. Monday content drop (15-25 min video, never longer), Wednesday live call (10 min teaching, 30-40 min hot seats, 15 min Q&A, 5 min commitment declarations), Friday community thread (one win, one struggle, peer support encouraged). Hot seats are the secret weapon — three or four participants coached publicly per call, everyone else learns vicariously. It's the most efficient delivery model in group coaching.

Engagement system and pricing. Buddy pairs from week one (reduces the coach's accountability burden, creates peer retention). Weekly challenges with public participation. A dedicated wins board. A clear graduation milestone with certificate and testimonial collection. Group size dictates structure — under 15 is intimate and the coach knows everyone; 15-30 needs sub-pods and possibly a moderator; 30+ requires team support and a pod architecture. Pricing anchors at 25-40% of the equivalent 1:1 package — at 15 participants that's typically a higher revenue-per-hour than 1:1 work, with better outcomes through community. First cohort is positioned as "founding member" pricing (30-40% lower) in exchange for testimonials and detailed feedback, because the first cohort is a beta and pretending otherwise creates problems later. The skill keeps the tech stack minimal — Skool/Circle/Mighty Networks for community, Zoom for calls, Stripe for payments — and refuses to over-tool.

When this triggers

  • ·You're at the 1:1 ceiling and your only options are raise prices or scale into groups
  • ·You tried a group programme once and half the cohort ghosted by week six
  • ·You want a weekly rhythm (content drop / live call / community thread) instead of inventing it each week
  • ·You're running 30+ participants and need pod structure, peer-buddies, and a moderator workflow
  • ·You're pricing your first cohort and want a defensible structure for early-bird vs. standard

Example

Trigger

Coach: 'I'm a fitness coach with a 12-week 1:1 programme at £2,400. Want to build an 8-week group version for women new to lifting. Target 15 participants. Build it.'

Output

Coaching programme design, not clinical programming. Participants with injuries, pregnancy, or medical conditions are flagged in intake and referred to a clinician before starting. PROGRAMME ARC (8 weeks): W1-2 FOUNDATION — assessments, form basics, quick win by W2 W3-5 BUILD — core programming, hot seats, habit work W6-7 ACCELERATE — progressive overload, troubleshooting W8 SUSTAIN — maintenance plan, graduation, testimonials WEEKLY RHYTHM (same every week): Mon — content drop (15-25 min video + weekly challenge) Wed — live call (60 min: 10 teach, 35 hot seats, 15 Q&A) Fri — community check-in thread (1 win, 1 struggle) ENGAGEMENT: buddy pairs from week 1, rotating hot seats (everyone gets 2+ per cohort), weekly wins board. PRICING: £797 (anchored at 33% of 1:1). 15 x £797 = £11,955 per cohort vs 3 x 1:1 in same window = £7,200. Founding cohort tier: £547 in exchange for testimonial + feedback. Tech stack: Skool (community), Zoom (calls), Stripe (payments).
